Will
the maniacal warmongering never cease in the senate?
A
couple days ago (Friday?) a former general and overall policy wonk think-tanker
named John M. Keane went before the Senate Armed Services committee (headed by
another drooling warmonger named McCain) to lay out a bunch of standardized
lies about “Russian aggression” in Syria and Ukraine. His description of what
he says happened in Ukraine
is exactly what did happen, only, he claims Russia did it and not US Special
Operations forces. Cute, huh?
The
jist of his message to the senate (which continues today) was that we have to
do more to stop Russia from
aiding the legitimate government of Syria.
During
his prepared warmongering rant, he tossed out ideas like imposing a no-fly
zone (shooting down Russian SU-27s I guess) , sending in ground troops to
protect our regime change mercenaries from Saudi Arabia and Jordan, and doing
something else that I thought might be of interest to folks out there with half
a moral left in their bodies: using refugees as human shields to protect our
CIA backed “moderate” terrorists.
“Putin
has begun a proxy war with the U.S . when Russian combat aircraft struck,
continuously, moderate rebel forces trained by the CIA. This was no accident,
targets were provided by the Syrian regime and they were accurate. How can the U.S. stand by
and do nothing? U.S.
military should have been given the mission to retaliate.” John
M. Keane
Retaliate?
Against whom? Russia?
Does this guy really think shooting Russian planes out of the sky on behalf of
our CIA terrorists in Syria
is a good idea? Is he really that crazy?
During
the Q&A segment of his testimony, Mr. Keane floated a rather spine-chilling
idea:“If
we establish free zones – you know, for moderate opposition forces – but also
sanctuaries for refugees, that gets world opinion support rather dramatically. If
Putin is going to attack that, then world opinion is definitely against him.
You take this issue right off the table in terms of why he’s in Syria and if
you’re doing that [attacking free zones] and contributing to the migration
that’s taking place by your aggressive military actions, then world opinion
will have some rather – I think – significant impact on him” John
M. Keane
Forget
for a second that he’s suggesting hiding terrorists inside groups of refugees
(that’s been done to death already)… what he’s saying is that it would be good
for global “PR purposes” if Russia
accidentally kills a couple hundred refugees.
He’s
saying we should use Syrian refugees as human shields to protect the CIA’s
regime change terrorists and hope that Putin ends up killing a couple hundred
of them because then we would be seen as the good guys.
And
the idiot actually said that, on the permanent congressional record.
I
guess I shouldn’t be surprised. after all, Keane helped neocon Fred Kagan write
“Choosing Victory: A Plan for Success in Iraq”
which involved a plan for using terrorists and death-squads in Iraq to regain
control of the occupied country. Hence the “surge” was born.
What
he’s basically saying is this: “Let’s
take those families we have displaced from across Syria and let’s ship them
over to a camp right next to some of the whacked out Wahhabist terrorists we
sent over to terrorize them and when Russia accidentally hits one of the camps,
we can use their deaths and suffering to get the world back on our side. And
even if they don’ attack them, their presence will protect the very terrorists
who chased them out of their homes and destroyed their towns” John
M. Keane kinda
Could
you imagine going before congress and saying such a twisted and deplorable
thing to those people? Actually asking their permission to do it? In public?
Why
don’t they just strap a refugee kid to the hood of all those Special Ops Helix
trucks ISIS drives around in? I mean, why the
fuck not? Our special friends over in Israel do it.

Syrian crisis: Russia air
strikes 'strengthen IS'
US President Barack Obama has said the Russian bombing campaign in Syria in support of President Bashar al-Assad is driving moderate opposition underground and "only strengthening" Islamic State.
US President Barack Obama has said the Russian bombing campaign in Syria in support of President Bashar al-Assad is driving moderate opposition underground and "only strengthening" Islamic State.
Mr Obama said he rejected the Russian assertion that all armed opponents of the "brutal" Mr Assad were terrorists.
Moscow insists its air strikes - which began on Wednesday - are targeting IS.
But the Syrian opposition and others have suggested non-IS rebels are bearing the brunt of Russian attacks.
Russia said its aircraft had hit IS command centres, arms depots and military vehicles. Targets included the IS stronghold of Raqqa, but also Aleppo, Hama and Idlib - provinces with little IS presence.

The
United States and Israel are really worried about Russia’s increasing involvement in Syria’s fight against the destabilization
campaign in their country known as “ISIS”
To
that end, Sec. of State John Kerry made a not-so-veiled threat against the
civilian population in the country if Russia refuses to back out.
“If
you don’t leave, we’ll kill and displace even more civilians” was the general
gist of his message to Russia
the other day. It was eerily similar to a message delivered by Killary Clinton
to Gadhafi when she was running the mergers and acquisitions department of US foreign
policy on behalf of global financial interests.
In
an interview with Italian newspaper La Stampa, Kerry said he had told Russian
Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov the United States
was worried by Moscow’s military backing for
Assad in Syria’s
civil war, now in its fifth year.
“These
actions could provoke a further escalation of the conflict and lead to the loss
of more innocent lives, increasing the flow of refugees and risking a
confrontation with the anti-ISIS (Islamic State) coalition operating in Syria,” Kerry
said. Reuters
According
to Reuters, Israel
delivered a similar message to Russian leaders this week.
Wait
a minute. I thought we were fighting “ISIS” in Syria
and Iraq?
Now I’m confused.
The
United States is welcoming Britain’s bombing of “ISIS” and France’s bombing of “ISIS”
targets. So why would they object to Russia lending a hand to the new
Coalition of the Willing? Russia is by far a military superior to both of those
countries and they represent the opposite end of the political spectrum so you
would imagine bringing them in to fight “the terrorists” would do nothing more
than help them end the conflict faster WHILE giving in credibility on the world
stage.
But
instead… the US and Israel are demanding Russia step back and take no action in
Syria and as they make that demand, apparently they are threatening more
violence will be directed at “innocent civilians” if they don’t.
What
does that tell you? What does that tell ANY RATIONAL HUMAN BEING about this
“ISIS” fabrication (that just happens to run around with US weapons, on US heavy equipment, fighting a target the US has wanted
out of power for decades? What does that tell you?
What
it tells me is the US and Israel are terrified that if Russia does put advisers
on the ground or they have a Russian pilot flying a Russian MIG or something in
Syrian airspace and they are shot and killed by US or Israeli forces… things
could get real bad real quick in the region.
You
see, you can get your Dutch co-conspirators to fabricate a report on a downed
Malaysian Airlines flight from Ukraine all day long, but if someone were to
take out a Russian service member with US or Israeli weapons, you’re not going
to have Dutch and French authorities to help white-wash the official reports.
And then you are going to have Russia
with all the justification they need to roll into Syria and put an end to the plans
for Greater Kurdistan real quick.
No,
they aren’t looking to light up WWIII. They aren’t that dumb.
But
they damn sure don’t want to have to worry about trying to figure out who’s in
the cockpit of a fighter jet Russia
sold to Assad.
And
they certainly don’t want their terrorist destabilization mercs killing a
couple Russian military contractors giving the Great Bear all the justification
they need to march ten thousand troops into the middle of the country to put an
end to our regime change operation.
It’s
hard to tell what Putin and Russia
will do at this point. Everything seems to be indicating they are slowly moving toward a “boots on the ground” operation in Syria. Some might say “too slowly”
will do at this point. Everything seems to be indicating they are slowly moving toward a “boots on the ground” operation in Syria. Some might say “too slowly”
One
thing is for sure though: it’s nothing these days for our illustrious leaders
to openly threaten civilian populations in broad daylight with no repercussions
at all. It’s sad when you think about it but apparently it’s all we got in
terms of foreign policy these days. Terrorists, false flags and open threats of
violence.

PALESTINE/ISRAEL: No Weapons For Israel
No Weapons For Israel
The Israeli government and many of its U.S. supporters tried everything they could to
defeat President Obama’s nuclear deal with Iran. Fortunately, they failed and peace and diplomacy won!
But now Congress and the Obama administration plan to reward Israel by authorizing the transfer of “massive
ordnance penetrators” and other advanced weaponry that it can use to attack Iran. If Israel bombs Iran,
then there’s a good chance that the U.S. will be dragged into another
war.
And the U.S. is prepared to sign a new 10-year deal to give Israel—one of the largest weapons exporters in the world—as much as $45 billion more in U.S. taxpayer-funded weapons. Israel routinely uses these weapons to injure and kill Palestinian civilians and destroy their homes, agriculture and infrastructure, in violation of U.S. law.
We just avoided a potential war with Iran. Why would we now give Israel weapons it needs to start a war with Iran and more weapons to continue oppressing the Palestinians?
Sign the petition to President Obama and tell him #NoWeapons4Israel.

Dear President Obama,
The United States should not reward Israel with more weapons after Israel and its lobby, AIPAC, attempted to scuttle your administration’s nuclear deal with Iran. The transfer of “massive ordnance penetrators” and other advanced weaponry increases the likelihood of a unilateral Israeli attack against Iran. And a new 10-year deal to provide Israel with up to $45 billion in more US taxpayer-funded weapons will deepen US complicity in Israel’s human rights abuses of Palestinians, in violation of the Arms Export Control and Foreign Assistance Acts. We just avoided a potential war with Iran. Do not give Israel weapons that it can use to start a war with Iran and more weapons to continue oppressing the Palestinians.

U.S. government blocks release of new CIA torture details
NEW YORK | By David Rohde

CIA custody, speaks at a news conference in Warsaw on December 16, 2010.

U.S. government officials have blocked the release of 116
pages of defense lawyers' notes detailing the torture that Guantanamo Bay
detainee Abu Zubaydah says he experienced in CIA custody, defense lawyers said
on Thursday.
The
treatment of Zubaydah, who lost one eye and was waterboarded 83 times in a
single month while held by the CIA, according to government documents, has been
the focus of speculation for years.
"We
submitted 116 pages in 10 separate submissions," Joe Margulies, Zubaydah’s
lead defense lawyer, told Reuters. "The government declared all of it
classified."
Margulies
and lawyers for other detainees said that the decision showed that the Obama
administration plans to continue declaring detainees’ accounts of their own
torture classified. A Central Intelligence Agency spokesperson declined to
comment.
After
the release of a U.S. Senate report on CIA torture in December, the government
loosened its classification rules and released 27 pages of interview notes
compiled by lawyers for detainee Majid Khan in which he described his torture.
Khan,
a Guantanamo
detainee turned government cooperating witness, said interrogators poured ice
water on his genitals, twice videotaped him naked and repeatedly touched his
"private parts" - none of which was described in the Senate report.
Khan
said that guards, some of whom smelled of alcohol, also threatened to beat him
with a hammer, baseball bats, sticks and leather belts.
"The
CIA has apparently changed its mind about allowing detainees to talk about
their torture," said Wells Dixon, Khan’s lawyer.
CIA
and White House officials opposed releasing the Senate report, but Senator
Dianne Feinstein, who then chaired the Intelligence Committee, made public its
480-page executive summary.
A
month after the report's release, government lawyers said in a January 2015
court filing that the CIA had issued new classification rules that permitted
the release of “general allegations of torture,” and “information regarding the
conditions of confinement.”
But
they said the names of CIA employees or contractors could not be released. Nor
the locations of the secret "black" sites where detainees were held
around the world after the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.
Margulies
said the 116 pages of notes he submitted for clearance were limited to Zubayda's
description of his torture and did not include prohibited information.
Margulies
said he followed "the rule to the letter" and accused the CIA of
trying "guarantee that Abu Zubaydah never discloses what was done to
him."
Zubaydah,
a 44-year-old Saudi national, has been held in Guantanamo for nine years and not been
charged with a crime.
